Job Description

Vendor’s Quality
• Review vendor document i
ndex submitted by vendor.
• Review of all deliverables such as Inspection & Test Plan, NDT procedure, Pressure Test Procedure, PWHT procedure, FAT procedure, etc. submitted by vendor and further submission to DCC for forwarding to Client / Nominated Inspection Agencies for review/approval.
• Coordinate with vendor for submission of inspection notifications as per Inspection and Test Plan.
• Forward inspection notifications to Third Party Inspection agency for participation at vendor’s premises.
• Attend pre-inspection or Kick of meetings with critical vendors.
• Visit suppliers for attending inspections as directed by Project Quality Manager or Head-Quality.
• Carry out a stage wise and final inspection (such as identification of raw material, fit up, weld visual, NDT, PWHT, Hydrotest, FAT etc.) as per approved ITP & drawings.
• Ensure that all inspections have been performed as per approved ITP and inspection report is received from Inspection Agencies.
• Keep a track of receipt of Inspection reports vis-à-vis inspection notifications.
• Coordinate with Client or their nominated inspection agencies for their participation for various inspections.
• Ensure that inspection release note is received prior to dispatch of items.
• Coordination with Procurement department for submission of MRB’s from vendors and ensure that MRB’s are reviewed and submitted to client.
• Coordinate with site team and forward necessary documents to them for preparation of material receiving inspection report.
• Follow up with vendors on closure of punch points if any.

Roles and Responsibilities 02

Site/Yard Quality
• Prepare list of quality deliverables that need to be submitted to Client for review/approval.
• Follow up with client / nominated agencies for approval of documents within scheduled time frame.
• Prepare material receiving inspection report upon receipt of material and obtain approvals from relevant parties.
• Ensure all testing and measuring instruments/equipments are duly calibrated and possess valid calibration certificates.
• Attend welder qualification / welding procedure qualification test program, prepare WPS/PQR/Welder Qualification Test Record.
• Ensure that all relevant documents are duly approved prior to start of fabrication or commencing relevant activities.
• Carry out regular inspections at site to ensure that QA/QC requirements are fulfilled as per relevant codes/standards/specifications/approved drawings/ITP.
• Monitor the performance of welders and take timely action upon unsatisfactory welder performance.
• Follow up with sub-contractor on closure of punch points.
• Obtain Inspection Release note from Client or their nominated inspection agency / certifying authority upon completion of work.
• Coordinate with sub-contractor for submission of As Built / Final documentation.

Roles and Responsibilities 04

QMS/Audit Management
• Ensure Project Quality requirements are met.
• Monitor the set project quality objectives and ensure that it is achieved.
• Issue NCR upon finding any non-conformances and ensure that necessary corrective or remedial actions has been taken and NCR is closed within stipulated time frame.
• Conduct internal audit per scheduled audit program as directed by Project Quality Manager / Head-Quality.
• Participate in internal / external QMS audit.

Key Objective of the Job Position

To control, monitor QA/QC activities at site, fabrication yards, vendor’s premises and ensure that it is complied to client requirements

Education Qualifications
• Diploma/B.E/ B Tech in Mechanical Engineering
• Candidate should be ASNT Level 2 Certified

Computer Software Proficiency

Experience Range

10 to 20 Years experience in Handling QA/QC activities for Offshore Oil and Gas Projects

Piping/Structural/Mechanical
• Must be well versed with inspection of mechanical, piping, structural items and quality control/ quality assurance activities during procurement, construction, installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of Oil & Gas projects.
• Must be well acquainted with materials and fabrication (Welding, NDT, dimensional control etc.) and have adequate knowledge of various construction/test codes as ASME Sec V, Sec VIII, Sec IX, ASME B31.3, AWS D1.1, API etc.

Work Environment
• May need to travel to vendor’s premises at domestic or overseas locations.
• May be deputed at construction site during the project construction
• Need to travel to Offshore Platform during Modification, Hook up, installation, Commissioning of the project
• May have to work long hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Work in all rough climatic conditions at Sea during offshore campaign
