Job Description

To lead and manage the end-to-end supply chain, procurement, logistics, and vendor development functions for IRP’s Solar EPC and Power Developer projects. The SCM Head will ensure the timely availability of materials, optimal cost efficiency, and seamless coordination between design, finance, and project execution teams—supporting IRP’s commitments under developer contracts and bank-backed guarantees.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Procurement & Planning

Develop and implement procurement strategies for solar EPC and energy infrastructure projects (modules, inverters, MMS, transformers, cables, BOS materials, etc.).
Align procurement timelines with project execution schedules and contractual milestones.
Collaborate with project, design, and finance teams to finalize technical specifications and cost estimates.
Manage annual procurement budgets, forecasts, and cash flow plans linked to project funding and disbursements.

2. Vendor Development & Management

Identify, prequalify, and onboard reliable vendors, OEMs, and EPC subcontractors.
Establish long-term supply agreements and framework contracts with major suppliers.
Conduct periodic performance evaluations covering delivery, quality, and pricing.
Build a strong vendor ecosystem for civil, mechanical, and electrical works under EPC scope.

3. Commercial & Contractual Oversight

Review and negotiate vendor contracts, purchase orders, and service agreements to ensure commercial soundness and risk mitigation.
Coordinate with legal and finance teams for documentation related to guarantees, LC, or collateral-backed procurements.
Monitor supplier payment terms and cash flow adherence in line with bank funding cycles (e.g., Canara Bank support).

4. Inventory & Logistics Management

Optimize material inventory levels to balance project timelines and working capital efficiency.
Ensure smooth logistics management — including customs clearance, inland transport, and on-site delivery coordination.
Implement digital tracking for supply chain visibility (ERP / SAP / project dashboards).
Minimize material losses, damages, and delays through proactive planning.

5. Quality, Compliance & Audits

Ensure that all procured materials conform to MNRE, BIS, and client technical standards.
Coordinate factory inspections, third-party tests, and certifications before dispatch.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for internal, client, and lender audits.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Engineering, Project Execution, and Finance teams for BOQ finalization, procurement sequencing, and cost reporting.
Support Project Head in timely material delivery for smooth site progress.
Participate in project review meetings and report supply chain KPIs to management.

**Proven expertise in high-value procurement (₹100 Cr+ annually) and vendor management in infrastructure or renewable energy domains.

Experience working on developer-funded or bank-backed EPC projects is a strong plus.

**Core Competencies:

In-depth knowledge of solar EPC components and supply chain dynamics.
Strong negotiation, cost-control, and vendor relationship management skills.
Familiarity with import/export processes and logistics operations.
Analytical mindset with data-driven decision-making ability.
Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / Tally Prime) and project management tools.
Integrity, transparency, and result-oriented leadership.
